Entrepreneur vs Intraprenuer
A distinction between the two as outlined in Pathways to High-tech Valleys and Research Triangles are that entrepreneurs are considered to be self employed and intrapreneurs are corporate entrepreneurs. The myth of entrepreneur is recognizable as the charismatic and revolutionary visionary, but this is the exception and not the rule. Most of the time the entrepreneur is building the venture at a slow pace and s/he probably is a relatively ordinary person working long and hard on the business. The authors define of entrepreneurship is
“Entrepreneurship is the ability to create and build something from practically nothing. It is initiating, doing, achieving and building an enterprise or organization, rather than just watching, analysing, or describing one.”
